NTFA DRAFT PROCESS & STANDARDS

Draft Process

All athletes who meet the NTFA’s standards are eligible for the NTFA draft. The draft registration period will be open from Fall 2024 and can be completed through the official NTFA website HERE.


The NTFA will allow athletes to compete in any of these 15 events: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 5K, 100 Hurdles, 110 Hurdles, 400m hurdles, Shot Put, Discus, Javelin, and Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Pole Vault.


NTFA teams will select athletes from the draft. Teams are required to build a balanced rosters, ensuring an even distribution between men and women per event for each team. The draft is scheduled to occur early Spring 2025.


The NTFA will allow athletes to train with their trusted coach while you hit the track for your team.

NTFA STANDARDS 

NTFA Draft Qualifying Guidelines

 

All qualifying performances for the NTFA Draft must be attained during the following time period(s):

-All events: January 1st, 2023 - December 25, 2024


Qualifying marks must be made in accordance with USATF Rule 149 and verifiable in one of the following:

-USATF Sanctioned events

-Events which are included on the World Athletics Global Calendar

-Marks that are recognized by World Athletics for their statistical purposes

-No timing allowance factor for qualifying shall be made for hand times. 

-Wind-assisted performances will not be accepted for any NTFA qualifying marks (maximum allowable wind is 2.0m/s).

-There will be no adjustment for marks made at altitude.

Qualifying marks must be attained in a 2023 - 2024 USATF event.

No qualifying marks will be allowed using alternate events.

-An Athlete must be U.S. citizen and eligible to compete in the NTFA, as well as being a U.S. citizen on the date of Declaration for the 2025 NTFA Championships in that event.
